Cajun Chicken And Shrimp Pasta

4 oz linguine ($.25)
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts halved ($1.50)
3 oz shrimp shell off and tailless ($1.00)
2 T chili powder ($.25)
2 T butter ($.10)
1/2 red pepper ($.59)
1/2 green Pepper ($.38)
1/2 yellow pepper ($.59)
1/2 orange pepper ($.59)
1 cup heavy cream ($.81)
1/4 tsp dried basil ($.05)
1/4 tsp lemon pepper ($.05)
1/8 tsp garlic powder ($.05)
1/4 tsp salt ($.05)
1/8 tsp black pepper ($.05)
1/4 cup grate Parmesan cheese ($.25)

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
Place the chicken, shrimp, and the chili power in a plastic bag. Shake to coat. In a large skillet over medium heat, saute the chicken and shrimp in butter or margarine until almost tender (5 to 7 minutes)
Add the peppers Saute and stir for 2 to 3 minutes. Reduce heat.
Add the cream, basil, lemon pepper, salt, garlic powder and ground black pepper. Heat through. Add the cooked linguine, toss and heat through. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and serve.


comes to $6.43 for 2 but can be made cheaper by only using one chicken breast and green peppers only..
